Be Happy in APPI

APPI is located in latitude 40° N where some of the world's most famous ski resorts, including Austria's Arlberg and USA's Aspen, lie. Occupying 282 ha in the magnificent setting of Towada-Hachimantai National Park, near the northernmost point of Main Island in Japan the easiest way to APPI is via train and bus. The Tohoku Shinkansen (bullet train) from Tokyo to Morioka takes about 2.5 hours, and there is a bus that goes directly from Morioka to APPI Hotels (50 min).

APPI is on Mt. Maemori (1305m) and Mt. Nishimori (1328m) and most slopes are facing the north side where snow conditions are better because of less direct sun hitting the slopes during the day. Plus, APPI’s Aspirin Snow (light and fine snow flakes) is perfect for skiers and snowboarders from mid December till early May. Ski-in and ski-out is available with a handful of extended runs that start high on Mt. Maemori including the longest run, Yamabato Run (5.5 km) for beginners, finishing at the hotel APPI Grand. The large scale of 21 different terrains is similar to European and American resorts for all levels of skiers and snowboarders.
