Rafferty meets Disney Live! stars Mickey and Minnie

There’s nothing quite like a road trip. And when your travelling companions have first names like Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald you know the family is in for a special treat.

Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Trip sees the gang set out on a fun-filled adventure around the world to find the coolest acts for their talent show. There are plenty of unexpected twists and turns along the way as they stumble across the sweet voiced Cinderella; share a little bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy, fun with Tigger; and hoot and holler at a hoedown with Toy Story’s Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear.

At 90 minutes long (with a 15 minute intermission that allows plenty of time for a necessary restroom break and for the kids to twist mum’s arm into buying something suitably Disneyfied from the gift shop. Sigh!), I was worried that my fidgety little man wouldn’t have the staying power but the show is so engaging that he was riveted - and, except for when he was up dancing with Mickey and Minnie and bouncing with Tigger, stayed miraculously still.

In the words of my son, the show is “More awesome than Captain Awesome from Awesome Land”. High Praise indeed!

And I have to admit it’s been a bit of a trip for me too, with newer Disney faces like Woody & Buzz singing and sharing a stage with the ones that I remember from my own childhood. You know? Back in the days when dinosaurs still roamed the earth...

Disney Live! Mickey's Rockin' Road Trip is touring Australia until February 24th, and is one live show that will have your kids on the edge of their seats and ready to embark on their very own road trip.
