you won't believe your eyesUnforgettable animal behaviour is on show at The Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2017 Exhibition now showing at the Australian National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour.

Your kids won’t believe their eyes! Arctic Showtime (whales), Kids Play (Goats) and Mother’s Little Headful (crocodiles) – a unique glimpse into the wild and wonderful animal world - now showing at the Australian National Maritime Museum.

On loan from the Natural History Museum in London, this world renowned exhibition, now in its 52nd year, showcases 100 awe-inspiring images selected from almost 50,000 entries, across 95 countries. It truly is a feast for the eyes!

  • The lion gently holds a zebra foal after it became separated from its herd while migrating through the lions’ territory
  • A female crocodile hangs out in the water while her babies use her head as a basking perch.
  • A baby monkey makes a characteristic play face as he swings on the tails of his two brothers
  • An male penguin attempts to drive off a giant petrel as the females encircle a young chick for protection

Judged by a panel of industry-recognised professionals, the images are selected for their creativity, artistry and technical complexity. The competition is open to the world's top professionals, as well as amateurs - who sometimes create big surprises!

Currently on an international tour of 60 cities over six continents, the exhibition is now in Australia, exclusively at the National Maritime Museum at Darling Harbour on Sydney’s foreshore.
