Children staying at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific resorts have the opportunity to learn about the importance of being green in a fun and exciting way thanks to an adventure loving character named Wynnie the Wallaby.
“Wynnie the Wallaby’s Green Adventure” is a Wyndham Green kids’ initiative that is available to youngsters across a selection of Wyndham resorts in Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, providing them with a fun and informative lesson in reducing their carbon footprint.
Children staying at a Wyndham resort are given an activity booklet which includes games and a quiz that can be answered by following clues posted around the resort grounds. Once they have completed the booklet they receive a gift bag and a certificate of completion.
Wynnie the Wallaby was introduced to educate children and their parents about how they can be environmentally friendly both at the resort and at home including lessons in reducing, reusing and recycling.
The activity has proven to be popular across the resorts since it started at the beginning of 2011 and can be done as part of a resort’s kids’ club or individually.
Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific CEO and Managing Director, Barry Robinson said the aim of the green initiative was to educate guests as well as resort staff about preserving the environment. “Wyndham is committed to reducing carbon emissions and we want everyone who stays at our properties to learn how to do the same and be more conscious of their impact on the environment,” Barry said.
