Here’s one for the mums and dads. The man with a finger in every pie – Jamie Oliver – is set to debut his first restaurant in Sydney later this year – an Italian eatery on Pitt Street, no less.
With space for over 200 diners over two floors, we’re confident it’ll be booked out for the first few months based on spectacle alone. “It’s basically fantastic food and service at really good value,” say Oliver. Sydney is no stranger to fantastic food, though the service element is rarely the city’s strong suit. Can Jamie re-energise the local foodie scene and strike a balance between class and affordability? We’re getting our diary out to mark the date. It’s Valentine’s Day, after all.
