Scenic World has created an iPhone app that makes finding your way around the Blue Mountains even easier – and more fun to app-addicts like us here on the OAWK team!
The app traces the Grand Circular Drive – a driving loop from Penrith to Windsor via the Great Western Highway and Bell’s Line of Road, with diversions to the Jenolan, Oberon and Lithgow areas.
It includes brief introductions to the various aspects of the Blue Mountains and includes sections which describe what can be seen in just about every town and village along the route, together with lists of accommodation, places to eat, activities, galleries and shopping.
“The strategy behind the app is similar to that behind our current television advertising campaign,” said Scenic World CEO Philip Hammon. “We want to show the world what the entire region has to offer – this is a very special place. Not only is it generally accepted as Australia’s most accessible wilderness, we also have hotels, restaurants, attractions, galleries and shopping to match any regional area in the country.”
