Here’s one to mark in the diaries, all you cruise lovers …

From October 2012, Carnival – the world’s biggest cruise line – will establish itself as a force on the South Seas by dedicating one of its ships to the Australian market fulltime. Even more exciting, the Carnival Spirit just so happens to be the biggest cruise ship to call Australia home – so big, in fact, that it can’t even fit underneath the Harbour Bridge.

If, like us here at OAWK, your heart beats just that little bit faster when you hear about a 22 metre corkscrew waterslide, miniature golf, decadent theatres, 1000 staterooms with balconies, and, ahem, a refuge for the adults in the form of a health spa, then perhaps the Carnival Spirit is one to watch out for.

It’s aimed, we’re told, at “fun-loving Australians seeking vibrant, active holidays with a broad diversity of on-board choices.” And that’s all of us, right?
