This winter, families are invited to take part in a very merry series of activities on offer at Sovereign Hill as Victoria’s most treasured family tourist attraction celebrates Christmas in July.
Every day from June 30 – July 15 2012, Sovereign Hill will host a range of fun festive activities including gingerbread workshops, jolly shadow puppets, yuletide plays and Christmas story readings.
In addition to the Christmas-inspired events on offer, all of Sovereign Hill’s regular activities will also be available right throughout the school holidays.
Favourite indoor children’s activities include colourful candle dipping, bowling at the 1850s bowling saloon, witnessing the fascinating $140,000 gold pour, 1850s-style shopping, visiting the animals and of course, panning for real gold!
This winter, Sovereign Hill Bakers will help visitors shape, decorate and bake their own Christmas gingerbread tree to take home (or enjoy on the spot!). The fun, cookie making workshop includes a festive colouring activity while the gingerbread is baking.
