Australia's favourite eco warrior "Dirt Girl" gets down and dirty in the new winter series. This fun educational show encourages school kids to get outside and get dirty. This Winter, Dirtgirl loves winter soups, rugging up in warm clothes and making a winter vegetable garden in the colour of a rainbow. Dirtgirlworld is an Australian and Canadian production utilising clever animation and photomontage, and it's a nice change from the plethora of American productions on our screens.
You can view episodes of Dirtgirlworld on ABC I-view.
We particularly like the Dirtgirlworld website, where you can become a member and join in the conversation about growing your own food. (Our local school has just started a vege patch so it's a nice continuation of the idea.) There is also an eco-store where 2% of sales go towards eco-projects for kids.
You can see dirtgirlworld live daily at 11.30am at the Royal Melbourne Show 24th September to 4th October 2011. Coming to life in the 'Show in the Flowers, Gardening and Pets Pavilion' through 30 mins of high energy eco-entertainment for the whole family, it will feature songs from her album 'Get Grubby.'
