Do you see colour when you hear music? Want to find a secret message with coloured light? Find out at Questacon this winter as you get ready to see the world in a new light.
With 25 hands-on exhibits, Questacon’s newest exhibition Colour will show you that we each see the world in a unique way and that colour is truly in the eye of the beholder!
Colour will lead you on a personal journey of discovery using four themes; Coloured Light, Changing Colours, Seeing Colour and Making Sense of Colour. Blended together these themes create multi-dimensional experiences for all ages.
Some of these experiences include: exploring the room of missing colours, testing your reaction time to coloured signals and seeing amazing specimens of minerals and insects from the Australian National Insect Collection and Geoscience Australia.
Compare your perspective of common objects with that of an individual with colour blindness and get ready for an amazing experience that highlights how different people see the world.
Younger visitors can explore the kids’ trail featuring artworks of Australian plants and animals throughout the exhibition – but the colours seem to be missing. Children and adults will be challenged to ‘find’ the colour in the pictures by using the included polarising glasses, watching the colourless images come to life.
