Falls Creek opens Wombats Ramble

Falls Creek fun

Falls Creek Ski Lifts has announced the opening of Wombats Ramble, the longest beginner trail at any Australian ski resort.

The opening of Wombats Ramble is the result of an enormous amount of snowmaking in recent days and nights. “Falls Creek is unique in being able to draw on water from Rocky Valley Lake, the largest and highest alpine lake in Australia,” says General Manager, Francis Jackson. “When the temperature and humidity is right, we have almost endless snowmaking capacity. That gives us incredibly reliable snow and allows us to offer our guests a Snowsports Guarantee.”

The opening of Wombats Ramble also coincided with some welcome natural snow. Within a few hours the village at Falls Creek and the entire mountain were transformed with a fresh coat of white.

Wombats Ramble is a 2.2 km green graded beginner run. It winds through the snowgums from the top of the popular Cloud 9 area to the bottom of the Falls Express chairlift.
