BIG4 Holiday Parks

A group of more than 180 quality, individually owned and operated holiday parks around Australia with fun family features

BIG4 formed in 1979 in the regional Victorian city of Ballarat when four independent caravan park owners united as a marketing cooperative. From there, the brand grew to incorporate more Victorian holiday parks, before expanding interstate. The brand now boasts more than 180 holiday parks — all individually owned and operated.

While a quality benchmark is an element of the network, the fact no two BIG4 parks are the same means there is clear variation in layouts and accommodation and facility offerings from park to park. BIG4 has three distinct category types that aim to provide customers with a clearer understanding of the product offering and what to expect from a BIG4 experience. They are Classic, Holiday and Premier. BIG4 offers a wide range of accommodation options, including accessible cabins, villas, cottages, houses, safari tents, glamping pods and glamtainers. Inflatable trampolines, playgrounds and pools are considered park staples, as well as splash or water parks, including the first of its type available indoors in Australia – in Inverloch, Victoria. Many have mini-golf facilities, bike tracks (including pump tracks), basketball and tennis courts, giant chess, pedal karts for hire, games rooms and other leisure facilities. There are also indoor play areas, communal fire pits, outdoor movie screens and seasonal kids’ clubs, plus on-site cafés, restaurants and even a brewery (another holiday park first). BIG4 has also introduced sensory rooms for guests on the autism spectrum. More than 70 per cent of BIG4 holiday parks are pet-friendly, with some offering facilities such as dog washes and off-leash agility areas.
