There’s a definite winter chill in the air now. Our coats have been dragged out of the back of the cupboard. Our minds turned to hot cups of tea, skiing and ice-skating.
You don’t have to go all the way to the snow to hit the rink.
For those families lucky enough to live in Wollongong – the Novotel Wollongong Northbeach will soon have an open-air rooftop ice rink.
Guests and visitors can strap on a pair of skates and hit the ice from 7th July – 22nd July 2018.
LED lights will sparkle on the ice, creating the perfect winter wonderland. Food stalls set up around the rink offer hot chocolate, gourmet toasties and themed cocktails (for mums and dads).
“We don’t get many chances to ice skate in Australia, let alone by the ocean,” General Manager for Novotel Wollongong Northbeach, Steven Savic says.
“Come along and enjoy a skating session, some delicious winter food and drinks, and some entertainment to complete the atmosphere.”
Tickets, including skate hire, cost $19.50 for adults and teens (over 14 years), $15 for children (5-13 years), and $10 for toddlers (2-4 years, must be accompanied by a paying adult). Take the whole family and save with a family pass priced at just $55.00 for two adults and two kids.
Penguin skate aids can also be hired for $5. To book tickets, visit Novotel
Families travelling to Wollongong can also take advantage of the hotel’s $295 per night Winter Wonderland package. It includes overnight accommodation for two adults and two children, buffet breakfast in Windjammer Restaurant, an in-house movie, a kid’s fun pack, parking and a family pass to an ice skating session for two adults and two children.
