Is your son or daughter a bit of a wiz in the kitchen (or do you wish they were)? Well now Hayman Island in Queensland offers more than its famous white beaches and luxury nature resort: while you're relaxing by the pool or indulging in some open-sea snorkelling, the kids have an opportunity to get inside an industrial kitchen and put their skills to the test.
Issued with recipes, aprons and hats, they're given an opportunity to make some fusion juice before touring the kitchen and learning the ropes from one of the resort's Head Chefs. Then it's Caesar salad the traditional way, gourmet pizzas in a stone oven, and finally a visit to the pastry chef and Chocolatier to prepare truffles for the evening's service. After this you'll never have to cook at home again.
Of course, Hayman Island Resort offers no shortage of other things for kids to do too, and even without the Masterchef program we think it would make a pretty stellar spot for a family escape. Easter, anyway?
As an added bonus for families, Hayman Island is offering a 25% discount off additional rooms with the Hayman Family Escape. This also includes 50% off à la Carte menus for children 5–12 years, 50% off launch transfers for children 5–12 years, complimentary meals for children four years and under, and (best of all) a special school holidays activity program.
