Cars and “Out & About with Kids” do have a lot in common!
When I was invited on behalf of Out & About with Kids to review and write about Toyota’s new and improved Yaris, my knowledge of cars extends to “nice colour” and “where are my keys?”.
Great gig to be a motor tech aficionado. They travel Australia and the world test driving and reviewing the latest models of everything. They are an elite group of very male dominated hard-core reviewers. Clearly out of my depth, I plead ignorance and ask to be shown the ropes.
A little pathetic but very useful. Rally-trained dudes pushing this little car to its very limits through the outskirts of Melbourne driving me into the divine Yarra Valley. I would enjoy it more if I weren’t so carsick from the tight corner turns and brake testing!
An amazing day, and yes this car is fantastic. And I learnt a whole new vocab -Multi information display (MID), Ecodrive indicator, all models 7 airbags VSC.
The bottom line – a terrific little car at a great price for all its new fandangled inclusions and safety ratings. In “Out & About with Kids” speak : Great small family car, perfect for the second small car in your home. Even better for teenagers.
And yes the colours are fantastic! Love the Cherry Pink!
