What is it about babies that other babies find so fascinating?
It’s a question that has long intrigued parents and was the inspiration behind a new DVD of songs, music and activities for the under-5s, created by Australian media mum Jacquie van Santen.
Baby to Baby is a baby-watching DVD for babies, that captures babies and toddlers ‘at work and play,’ chasing bubbles and runaway balloons, playing peekaboo and baby dress-ups, giggling, wriggling and dancing the cha-cha.
‘My aim has been to create a DVD that is a quality viewing experience for babies, so that parents can relax confident that their babies are happy and engaged in a meaningful way. I believe we have created that. Our baby viewers not only have a lot of fun watching our DVD, but also learn about friendship, nature, colours, shapes and fine motor skills.’
Baby to Baby makes a perfect gift for Baby Showers, birthdays or Christmas – or for the little ones in your own life. It is priced at $19.95 and is available at
Five percent of all profits from the sale of Baby to Baby will go to two wonderful charities that support children – The Cambodian Children’s Fund and Kiva.
OUR TAKE ON IT: Our reviewer played “Baby to Baby” to her three year old, who was really intrigued at the actions of the other babies and toddlers on screen. Although different to the usual programs she grew up with – such as “In the Night Garden” & “Teletubbies” I can see where learning by watching other babies play, can be a quality viewing experience, offering different values to the likes of Dora and The Wiggles. To be tested soon on Baby number two!
