Malaysia’s first Hard Rock Hotel is on three kilometres of magnificent beachfront at Penang’s Batu Ferringhi, one of Asia’s most popular island destinations and just a short 45 minute plane trip from Kuala Lumpur.
Often referred to as the Pearl of the Orient, Penang is a fantastic fusion of East and West, embracing the modern whilst retaining its character. The capital Georgetown is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site – in a single street you can enter a mosque, church, Taoist temple and Hindu shrine.
The evening street markets, an easy 10 minute walk from the Hard Rock, are a constant temptation. And if little shoppers get too tired the trishaws are always a fun, cheap and easy option back to the comfort of the hotel. If international brands hold more appeal, catch a taxi over to Gurney Plaza for everything from kids clothes and electronics to high end couture.
Penang is also famous for its food with an incredible mix of Chinese, Indian, local street hawker cuisine and good old burgers and fries for the more simple palate.
Rockin’ Good Fun
From the icicle lights framing the neon-lit entrance to every staff member greeting you with “have a rocking day” the Hard Rock is all about fun. Kids are everywhere, dancing to bands, frolicking with their families by the sandy edge of the largest free form pool in Northern Malaysia, sliding down waterslides and paddling in the soft water play shallow zone under the watchful eyes of the every present lifeguards.
Plus there is a diverse range of activites for every member of the family from the snake man who kisses cobras to water aerobics and music to suit every mood.
And for the happy toddlers at the Lil’ Rock kids club to the “too cool to hang with their parents” teens filling up the Teen Zone, the resort is “rockin” good fun for kids and a winner all the way.
