The Intercontinental Hotel Sydney Club Lounge View

The Intercontinental Hotel Sydney Club Lounge View

…feeling overwhelmed as the busy working Mum, not enough time to really “Go Away” for the family school holidays, trying to keep track of kids whilst on the job and feeling a whole heap of guilt hearing of everyone else’s wonderful holiday itineraries.

Solution! Two nights away in a city hotel. Our choice for this adventure was the Intercontinental Sydney. Taking the extra kudos of a Club Floor room might be a little more expensive, but paid for itself many times over with the complimentary endless gourmet breakfast buffet and canapés and cocktails each evening.

The view from the Club Floor had us wowing at Sydney from its magical vantage point. After making the most of the pool and sauna each day we sauntered through the city celebrating our ease of access. One day at Darling Harbour, Wildlife Sydney and new Darling Quarter could have held out attention hours longer.

Our second day was around the Harbour foreshores.

Starting across the road at Botanical Gardens, down past the Opera House and Circular Quay to wander the historical Rocks district. Exhausted, happy and feeling like we had all earned our sunset cocktails, the kids were content to chat away on the balcony and leave me to check emails with the comp Wi-Fi in the lounge. Yes I did have to!

Sydney has so much to offer families, and snug in our 2 double beds at the end of each night I can happily say I was Mumstar for those 2 days. WE loved every second. The Intercontinental Sydney saved my working Mum’s bacon.
