It’s almost that time of year… where wintery Sydney is transformed into a city of light, with 2019 Vivid commencing on Friday 24th of May.

Vivid Sydney 2018

Now in it’s 11th year, Vivid continues to expand with 23 days and nights of light, music and ideas, with even more exciting activities and installations for the kids (that even adults will enjoy!)

Whether it be the classic large-scale light projections or interactive installations, the fun spans all across the city, from Circular Quay and Darling Harbour, to Chatswood and Taronga Zoo.

Destination NSW Chief Executive Officer and Vivid Sydney Executive Producer, Ms Sandra Chipchase said, “Vivid Sydney gives families the opportunity to discover the magic that can be created when art meets technology, surprising and delighting kids of all ages.”

With nine precincts illuminating Sydney, it is almost difficult to narrow down the must-see installations; so, we’ve pulled out some of the top picks for kids, no matter your location!

Lights for the Wild @Taronga Zoo

Let the kids play amongst the beautiful zoo animals with the moving animal projection show. Follow the trail through the zoo, with giant sculptures of tigers, turtles and gorillas that sparkle in the night.

Pixar Animation @The Rocks

What is better than seeing Woody & Buzz Lightyear on the TV at home? Seeing the kids favourite characters larger than life projected across The Argyle tunnel! Walk the kids through for an animation of their beloved Pixar characters for ultimate excitement!

KHCBCW Circular Quay and The Rocks at Dawn, Sydney, New South Wales (NSW), Australia

Kiddo Disco @Darling Harbour

Exactly what it sounds like! Have a dance with your kids under a giant disco ball and even dress up in fun disco themed clothes for a fun night for the whole family. Great music, illuminating lighting and even take-home treats for the kids.

Cascading Harp @ Chatswood

For the kids that love all things music, let them weave in and out of the giant musical instrument. LED lights and sounds change in time with movement, allowing each little visitor to create their very own song and dance.
